Objectives

The Caribbean region is one of the most biodiverse regions in the world and hence maybe the most vulnerable to climate change.  As such, the government of each country has recognised the importance of supporting the objective of achieving a net zero emission future.

Working closely with companies within the CARICOM region represents an opportunity to support in the acceleration of the region’s transition to green energy at a faster rate if we are to achieve the climate change goals of net-zero emissions by 2050 as set by the Paris Agreement on Climate Change.

NGC and its subsidiaries  play an important role in all areas of the energy value chain in Trinidad and Tobago. Some of the on-going initiatives undertaken include:

• An ongoing Reforestation programme that is now looking at carbon sequestration
• NGC EnergySmarTT app
• Methane emission monitoring
